College Unfair Means Inquiry Committee (CUMIC)

The College Unfair Means Inquiry Committee (CUMIC) is constituted to address and investigate cases of unfair means and malpractice during examinations. It ensures that due process is followed in handling such cases while upholding principles of fairness, transparency, and academic integrity. The committee plays a crucial role in maintaining the credibility and sanctity of the examination system in alignment with institutional and NAAC quality standards.

Objectives

  • To inquire into cases of unfair means and examination malpractice in a fair and impartial manner
  • To ensure adherence to established rules and procedures during inquiry and decision-making
  • To uphold academic integrity and the credibility of the examination system
  • To provide students with an opportunity to present their case in accordance with due process
  • To recommend appropriate actions or penalties as per institutional and university norms
  • To maintain confidentiality and transparency throughout the inquiry process
  • To prevent recurrence of malpractice through awareness and preventive measures
  • To maintain proper documentation and records of all cases and decisions
  • To coordinate with the Examination Committee and other authorities as required
  • To contribute to quality assurance and compliance with regulatory guidelines
