A Girl’s Cry

QUICK BITE - INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD

She was just a little late, her mind was filled with fears
Hoping to reach home safely, trying to hold back the tears.

Five monsters surrounded her, her heart was filled with fear
She screamed for help and yelled out loud, but no one was there to hear.
She was left on the road, fighting for her life
She was someone’s daughter; she was someone’s wife.

Even after all this, the girl gets the blame
If she was your daughter, would you do the same?
The candle marches end, suddenly no one’s left to care
We cannot even imagine what her family has to bear.

Before you judge a girl and before you stare
Look at your own home, and you’ll find a woman there.
Every day around the country, the same story gets repeated
Every day, around our country, a girl and her hopes are defeated.
