Synthesis 2023: Annual Interclass Cultural Fest organised at Don Bosco College

QUICK BITE - 'SYNTHESIS' the annual interclass cultural fest of Don Bosco College, Panjim was held on August 25 and 26 with the theme 'Cruising Through Cultures' which highlighted the vibrant cultures of different countries.

Don Bosco College Panjim organised its annual cultural event '˜Synthesis' On August 25 and 26 with the theme '˜Cruising Through Cultures'. The sponsors for the event were The House Of Hyderabad Biryani, Amigos and Noir Street. The event focused on highlighting the vibrant cultures of different countries.

Day one commenced with the Inaugural Ceremony, which was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Sairaj Dhond, the Founder and CEO of Wakao Foods, at the Don Bosco Oratory. Also present were college director, Fr Joaquim Lobo; principal, Dr Cedric Silveira; Head of cultural committee, Archie Fernandez, General secretary of the college, Sakshi Kittur and cultural secretary, Sarah Cabral.

The interclass cultural fest began at 10 a.m. with the first on-stage event wherein each class represented their respective countries through catchy slogans and carefully decorated outfits in the '˜Creatively Native' round, which served as an icebreaker for the competition. Two events - '˜Vibrant Vexilloids' & '˜Musical Snakes' were held simultaneously on campus. The former let participants showcase their amazing drawing and painting skills in the flag painting round, while the latter had participants enjoying their time through a unique version of musical chairs, arranged like a snake with an extended number of chairs making it much more engaging and thrilling.


The second on-stage event '˜Voices Of The World' had the audience on their feet swinging to the melodious symphonies of each class. The treasure hunt round '˜Snap, Seek, Win - Where Adventure Sets In!' had participants put on their thinking caps and running shoes chasing around the huge campus searching for special objects and items by connecting clues.

'˜Tribe Throwdown' put a twist on the game of throwball by covering the nets with cloth to hide the opponent teams, turning it into blind throwball. Day one ended at 4:30 p.m. with all students heading home and preparing themselves for an even bigger and better last day.

The second day had two of the most awaited and exciting events of the competition. There was a lucky draw by Noir Street with exciting merchandise as rewards. The last off-stage event '˜Your Place, Your Face' had one participant painting their partner's face, depicting something unique to their country's culture and tradition. The much awaited '˜Groove Through Your Roots!' had participants dancing in their traditional outfits to the beats of their respective countries with energy and flare. The last event was the '˜Walk Of Culture', wherein each class showcased fancy yet traditional outfits of their countries with grace. Each class had members flaunting different outfits, and one showstopper pair contesting for '˜Mr. Synthesis and Ms. Synthesis'. Judges asked introspective questions about their culture as well as their surroundings, and every participant answered with a lot of wit and charm.


There was a short dance session followed by the valedictory ceremony. The lucky draw held by Noir Street got its winner through a lot picked by Dr. Silveira. The winner was presented with official merchandise by Aryan Bhobe and Azhan Shaikh.

The results for the department canteen held during fun week were announced and the department of Mass Communication emerged victorious with the highest profit. Students Logan and Cheala were crowned Mr. And Ms. Synthesis. The winners of the event were announced with Team Kenya and Team Egypt securing second runners-up and first runners-up respectively, and Team Portugal winning first place.
