The Goa University Intercollegiate Football Tournament, which began on September 16th, saw a massive turnout with 29 teams participating in the women's category and 47 teams in the men's category. Don Bosco College, Panjim was among the enthusiastic participants, fielding teams in both categories.

The tournament was strategically held across two venues: the Rosary Ground in Navelim hosted matches up to the quarterfinals, while the Athletics Stadium in Bambolim took center stage for the semifinals and finals.


The women's team from Don Bosco College, Panjim showcased remarkable prowess on the field, starting with a resounding 4-0 victory over P.E.S College Farmagudi in their first match. Their winning streak continued as they triumphed over Carmel College with a score of 5-0. The team's momentum remained unabated as they secured another convincing 5-0 win in the semifinals against Don Bosco College Engineering Fatorda. However, their journey was halted in the finals against Rosary College Navelim, where the match ended in a draw, and Don Bosco College Panjim lost in the tiebreaker with a score of 0-2. Despite this setback, the women's team proudly secured the Runners-up position in the tournament.


In contrast, the men's team faced a tougher start, losing their first match against Government College Khandola with a score of 2-4. Despite this early setback, the experience gained from participating in such a competitive tournament will undoubtedly contribute to the team's growth and development.
