The B.A. Department of Psychology, Don Bosco College, Panjim, organised a field visit to Sanjay School, Porvorim, on 5 August 2026, offering students a meaningful glimpse into the world of special education. Moving beyond textbooks, they explored the Sanjeevani, Shradha and Shruti sections, where teaching is carefully adapted for learners with intellectual disabilities, learning difficulties, and hearing impairment. Students observed Individualised Education Plans, therapeutic services, visual teaching methods, Indian Sign Language and vocational training. They also witnessed how simple skills—making envelopes, baskets, files and decorative articles—can open pathways to confidence, dignity and independence. The visit highlighted the quiet dedication of special educators, therapists and parents, leaving students with a deeper understanding of inclusion, empathy and the belief that every child can learn when given the right support.
