“Media Morphosis” a celebration of reality TV broadcast-style competition

QUICK BITE - Don Bosco College’s Department of Mass Communication and Journalism organised Media Morphosis on 3 October 2026, featuring eight colleges in reality TV-inspired media competitions. Dhempe College won the Champions Trophy, while St. Xavier’s College secured the runners-up position.


The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Don Bosco College conceptualized a unique event blending reality TV and broadcast style competition by organizing “Media Morphosis” on 3rd October 2026. Media Morphosis is one of the many significant events of the College’s Silver Jubilee Year celebration. The event began with a formal inaugural ceremony with Ms. Ayesha Barretto, the radio voice of Goa and a media professional as the Chief Guest along with the presence of Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, Prof. Teotone Vaz, Principal, Dr. Cedric Silveira, Vice Principal, Ms. Christal Ferrao, Faculty In-charge of Media Morphosis, Mr. Archie Fernandes, Coordinator of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Ms. Micole D’Souza and Ms. Issaca Pereira (Student Event In-charges), Ms. Rosann D’Silva, Mr. Shavin Da Costa and Ms. Zarah Rodrigues (student core team members). Ms. Ayesha Barretto spoke about the importance and vibrant opportunities available in the field of Media in her keynote address. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz stressed about the meaning of Media Morphosis and welcomed all participating colleges. Prof. Teotone Vaz spoke about the importance of media and communication skills for young professionals. Ms. Christal Ferrao set the context of the ideation and planning of Media Morphosis.




Eight colleges from across Goa competed across eight events, with Dhempe College of Arts and Science (Team Rakhi Sawant) earning the Champions Trophy, while St. Xavier’s College (Team Steve Harvey) secured the Runner-Up Trophy. Other participating colleges include Saraswat College (Team Samay Raina), Rosary College (Team Lori Geiner), Dempo College (Team Paris Hilton), V.M. Salgaocar College of Law (Team Kim Kardashian), Nirmala Institute of Education (Team Simon Cowell) and Fr. Agnel College (Team Mithun Chakraborty)




Media Morphosis showcased a wide spectacle of onstage and offstage events, celebrating the evolving role of broadcast entertainment and spirit of competition. The onstage events included ‘Shark Studio’ (inspired by Shark Tank) where teams pitched a film idea, ‘Sync’d’-a dance competition, and ‘Fashion and Fad’, a fashion show based on current affairs. The offstage events included ‘Guilty as Charged’, a debate styled event, ‘Press Feud’, a media quiz, ‘Scandal Cancel’ a tressure hunt cum PR strategy event, ‘Valdocco Island’, a reality show style video production and ‘Click Chasers’ a photography competition.




‘Media Morphosis’ culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Archie Fernandes. The event reaffirmed Don Bosco College Panjim’s commitment of celebrating talent and fostering creativity through intercollegiate competitions.
