On October 23, 2020, the Department of Mass Communication of Don Bosco College, Panjim, celebrated '˜National TV talk show host day'. To mark the occasion, a webinar was hosted by Radhika Satoskar via the Google Meet platform. The main objective for conducting this webinar was to introduce the first year and second year students to the amazing world of electronic media.
During the session, Ms Satoskar laid down the underpinning technicalities of the news media. The entire session was engaging with the highly enthusiastic and curious students of the department asking her several questions, to which she gave detailed and pleasing answers.
The session gave the students a different outlook of the news media and the way it functions. From giving insights on being an intern, a local news reader and assistant anchor, to being a news reader and hosting interviews for a national television like Doordarshan, Ms Satoskar successfully inspired and motivated the students by telling them about her hard work and determination to succeed in her career.
Ms Satoskar told the students that in order to be successful they needed to have a sharp presence of mind and be alert 24x7.She also told them that they needed to be well-read and be able to articulate well. Lastly, she mentioned that appearances do matter but just enough to look presentable, more importantly, one must stay head strong and determined to the task and their career.
This webinar was attended by all the Mass Communication students of the college as well as the faculty. FY student Dylan Correya proposed the vote of thanks at the end of the webinar.
