
Christal Ferrao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Don Bosco College, Panjim, since June 2025. She teaches subjects such as Media and Cultural Studies, Corporate Communication, Advertising Management, Copywriting, Events, and Travel & Lifestyle Communication. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Communication Studies at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, and holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication–Journalism from Symbiosis International University, Pune, along with a Bachelor’s degree from Christ University, Bengaluru. She has also qualified the UGC-NET.
Prior to joining academia, she gained diverse professional experience across media and academic institutions, including roles at Goa Institute of Management, Prudent Media, Viva Goa Magazine, and the International Film Festival of India. Her work spans multimedia journalism, content writing, and academic research, providing her with a strong blend of industry and scholarly expertise.
She has contributed to research and publications, including co-editing a book on sustainable business practices, authoring a poetry anthology, and publishing a case study with Sage Business Cases. Her academic interests include communication, sustainability, gender studies, and media research. Through her teaching and research, she aims to foster critical thinking, creativity, and socially relevant perspectives among students.
