Dr. Ajith Gopi is an academician and physical education professional currently serving as Assistant Professor in Physical Education and B.P.Ed. Programme In-charge at Don Bosco College, Panjim. He holds a Ph.D. from SRTM University, Nanded, and has qualified for the UGC-NET and Maharashtra SET. He brings over a decade of teaching experience to his role.
His research interests focus on movement development among school-going children and Quality Physical Education. His scholarly contributions include publications on physical literacy, non-verbal communication in physical education, and comparative analyses of athletic performance. His recent certifications from the International Physical Literacy Association (IPLA) further reflect his commitment to advancing physical literacy frameworks and practices.
Dr. Gopi has also made significant contributions to curriculum development as a member of the Goa University Board of Studies in Physical Education and Sports. In this capacity, he contributed to the revision of the B.P.Ed. syllabus and the introduction of the M.P.Ed. curriculum. His ongoing research explores how effective physical education practices and movement-based interventions can enhance learning outcomes and support the holistic development of children. Through his academic, research, and curricular contributions, he continues to advocate for quality physical education in the region.

- FDP'S & WORKSHOPS ATTENDED
• Completed the 115th Faculty Induction Programme (Guru-Dakshta), conducted online by the UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Goa University, from 13 September to 18 October 2022.
• Attended the five-day Faculty Development Programme, “Empowering Educators in Physical Education: Insights into Sports Sciences and Management,” held at the Government College of Commerce and Economics, Borda, Margao, from 22 to 26 October 2024. It was organised by the Directorate of Higher Education, Goa, in collaboration with the college.
• Attended the one-week international workshop, “IKS Alumni to Alumni Social Empowerments through Sports Project,” organised by the Sports Science Faculty, Leipzig University, Germany, in collaboration with Don Bosco College, Panjim.
- WORKSHOPS & CONFERENCES CONDUCTED
• 11 May 2022: Conducted a session on sports report writing and interviewing for second-year B.P.Ed. students at Don Bosco College, Panjim. The College Literary Committee organised the session in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education.
• 7 February 2023: Conducted a pickleball workshop for B.P.Ed. students at Don Bosco College, Panjim, in collaboration with Globel Sports Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. Five coaches led two-hour practical sessions for 80 students and four faculty members.
• November 2023: Conducted a five-day session on gender equity in sports at Don Bosco College, Panjim, in collaboration with ITK, Leipzig University, Germany. The session preceded the International Coaching Course.
• 17 February 2025: Conducted a pre-conference workshop on sports psychology, covering neurofeedback and biofeedback in psychological training, at Don Bosco College, Panjim, as part of the Fit for Life international conference.
• 18–20 February 2025: Don Bosco College served as a partner institute for the international conference Fit for Life: Empowering Youth through Physical Education, Sports, and Traditional Sports, held at Goa University and organised by National Sports University, Manipur, and Goa University.
