Asst. Prof. Archie Michael Fernandes serves as the Coordinator for the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Don Bosco College, Panjim. Holding a Master’s degree in Communication and Journalism from Mumbai University, he brings dedicated academic and production experience to the department, seamlessly bridging theory with hands-on creative practice.
His core subject expertise and teaching strengths encompass television production, film studies, music, digital video production, media research, graphic design, and foundational principles of communication. Deeply passionate about the narrative power of sound and visual media, his academic and creative work emphasizes audio-visual storytelling, cultural media studies, and the preservation of regional music traditions through modern media channels.
At Don Bosco College, Archie has played a pivotal role in strengthening the department’s practical and academic footprint. As Department Coordinator, he regularly mentors student capstone projects, short films, digital news packages, and digital media portfolios, helping students transition smoothly from classroom learning to industry standards. Beyond academic supervision, he has directed and produced numerous institutional media productions and department showcases, while providing key leadership and organizational oversight for major campus initiatives, including Fortnightly Flashback, DBC Crosscut among others.
