Journey Begins: Don Bosco College BPEd Orientation

QUICK BITE - Don Bosco College's BPEd orientation, held on July 9, 2024, welcomed students with inspiring speeches from faculty and staff, emphasizing educational opportunities and support services. The event concluded with a campus tour, setting a positive tone for students' academic journey.


Don Bosco College, Panjim, organized an orientation programe for the students of the BPEd Department on July 9, 2024. The event commenced with the College Anthem followed by a welcome address by Asst. Prof. Jessica. The Principal, Dr Cedric Silveira acknowledged the diverse academic backgrounds of the newly admitted students, ensuring them that at Don Bosco College, they will get plenty of opportunities in terms of educational and extracurricular activities. The Principal hoped that the students would give back to the college by excelling in sports through their hard work.


Asst Prof Valerie Carvalho introduced the college website, highlighting its features and functionalities. Asst Prof Archie shared the contact details of essential members of the college staff, enabling the students to seek and receive assistance. Asst Prof Nigel outlined the general rules and code of conduct, emphasizing the importance of discipline and decorum. The College Counsellor, Ms Zaneta D’Mello offered valuable advice on mental health, assuring the students that they can feel free to approach her and trust that the counselling process is a safe and confidential space devoid of judgement. The CDPES and College Librarian also addressed the gathering, underscoring the resources available to students.


Dr Ajith introduced the BPEd faculty, fostering a sense of familiarity and community. Dr Ajinkya elaborated upon the objectives of the BPEd program, motivating students to strive for excellence. The Director, Rev Fr Joachim Lobo’s address offered cognizant insight to the students regarding their academic tenure at this institute. Fr Britto delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the contributors and participants.
The programme was compèred by Ms Nehal. The orientation concluded with a campus walk led by Mr Shubham, familiarizing the students with the infrastructure and facilities. The programe was attended by 100 students studying in FY and SY (BPEd).
