In the true spirit of Christmas, Don Bosco College, Panjim, through its Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) Cell in collaboration with the Campus Ministry Cell, organised a Christmas Outreach and Donation Drive on 15 December 2025, reaching out to children, senior citizens, and animal welfare groups across Goa. The initiative aimed at spreading joy, compassion, and the message of sharing during the festive season while sensitising students to the importance of social responsibility and community service.
As part of the outreach programme, students and faculty visited St. Anthony’s Home, Seraulim, Verna, where essential food items were donated for the resident children. The visit was marked by warm interactions and joyful moments as Christmas carols were sung, filling the home with festive cheer.

The outreach also extended to senior citizens through visits to Daddy’s Home, Chandor, Lar de Terezinha, Margao, Arc of Hope Old Age Home, Mae de Deus Old Age Home, and Krist Raj Bhavan, Saligao. Students and teachers spent quality time with the elderly, engaging in conversations, singing Christmas carols, light dancing, and sharing laughter. At the Arc of Hope Old Age Home, instrumental and vocal carol performances, along with interactive sessions, created a heart-warming atmosphere, allowing meaningful bonds to form between generations.
Another highlight of the Christmas outreach was the visit to Margaret Bosco Bal Sadan, Bastora, where faculty and students were warmly welcomed by the management of the institution. Donated items were formally handed over, followed by a joyful programme that included Christmas carols, games, distribution of spot prizes, dancing, bringing smiles and happiness to the children.

In addition to outreach among people, the initiative also embraced compassion for animals through an interaction with Trailblazers, a volunteer-based animal welfare group in Vasco. The interaction highlighted the group’s selfless efforts in rescuing, feeding, and sterilising animals in distress and opened avenues for future collaboration.
Speaking about the initiative, faculty members highlighted that the outreach programme provided students with an opportunity to step beyond the classroom and experience the values of empathy, kindness, and service first-hand. The initiative not only brought festive cheer to the beneficiaries but also left a lasting impact on the students, inspiring them to become socially conscious and compassionate citizens.
