The Department of Computer Applications at Don Bosco College, Panjim, in collaboration with Tech Savvy Hub – The I.T. Club, organized a Science & Technology Quiz on 28 February 2026 at 10:00 a.m. to commemorate National Science Day. The event aimed to promote scientific temper, encourage curiosity about technological advancements, and foster critical thinking among students. It also provided a platform for healthy academic competition while highlighting the contributions of science and technology to society.
A total of 32 students forming 16 teams participated enthusiastically in the inter-class competition. The quiz began with a preliminary round in the BCA Lab, where participants answered 25 multiple-choice questions covering topics related to science, information technology, and recent technological developments. Based on their scores, the top four teams advanced to the final round, which was conducted in Room 10.


The final round consisted of three interactive segments designed to test participants’ knowledge, analytical thinking, and observation skills. Teams answered questions related to scientific concepts and IT developments, while the visual round challenged participants to identify important inventions and renowned inventors. The rounds generated excitement among the audience and highlighted the participants’ quick thinking and subject knowledge.
After a closely contested competition, Alirose Sequeira and Alim Muzaver from FY BBA T&T secured first place. Olivia Mascarenhas and Vida Pacheco were declared runners-up, while Shivraj and Aldrich Fernandes from BCA secured third place. Dashiell Picardo and Abdullah Saiyed finished in fourth position. Principal Prof. Teotone Vaz presented cash prizes and certificates to the winning teams.
The event was graced by the presence of Principal Prof. Teotone Vaz, Vice Principal Dr. Cedric Silveira, Assistant Professor Mr. Rohan Kerkar, and Mr. Chetan Bagaria. The quiz was efficiently coordinated with the support of First Year BCA students, whose teamwork ensured the smooth execution of the event. The activity successfully promoted scientific awareness, teamwork, and enthusiasm for innovation among students, making the National Science Day celebration both educational and engaging.
