Department of Computer Applications

The BCA course aims to provide students with a strong foundation in fundamentals of computers. Prepare the students with exceptional skills of problem solving, communication and leadership skills.
The objectives of the course are:
• To create professionals that are well-spoken and confident
• To teach students to be led by a strong moral compass
• To provide students with skills to drive organizational growth
• To provide students with exposure to planning, decision-making, communicating, coordinating and other software development role requirements.

Infrastructure

  • To stay at the top of your game, the need for adopting and adapting to the latest developments in the education sector is essential. As the world becomes technologically advanced, our students must be enriched with the latest technological infrastructure so as to tackle academic challenges. We have taken it upon ourselves to ensure that the institution and its students benefit from the latest in software and digital tech. The department has its own dedicated IT labs, fitted with the latest in computer technology.
  • Our computer systems are loaded with updated software that allow students to achieve more than just an academic record. All the departments Lab are installed with software development environments for programming, database management, graphic design, virtual machines as well as sound and video editing software's.
  • The computers are also fitted with more than adequate specifications to enable smooth, lag-free performance.
  • Besides our superior lab facilities, all classrooms are fitted with the latest learning tools.
  • With changing ways of learning, it is crucial that our students get nothing but the best. The classrooms are therefore fitted with projector screens, 3-1 surround sound systems, and Wireless internet connections.
  • As self-learning lies at the core of a good student, students are encouraged to use their laptops to access web-based learning platforms besides learning from their teachers.
  • Sports/ Recreation Facilities - After and before class hours, students have access to a newly-built football turf, handball, volleyball, basketball and tennis courts and a multi-purpose ground used for hockey, football and athletics. The Don Bosco Oratory is also available for students to use – it houses 2 badminton courts, along with provisions for games like chess, carrom, archery, indoor basketball and futsal, and pool. It also has a multi-purpose where students can enjoy yoga, aerobics, Zumba and dance classes.
  • Well-Stocked Library - For the purpose of research and self-study, students have access to a massive inventory of encyclopedias, course-oriented reference books, scholarly journals, newspapers and magazines, non-fiction and fiction novels. Students also have access to online sources of information and e-libraries.
