Don Bosco College, Panjim, held an Investiture Ceremony on April 7, 2022, to honour the class representatives of each department. A badge of honour, a symbol of their position and responsibility, was placed on each of the representatives. The host Mr Aditya Karande of SY BCA welcomed everyone to the solemn occasion.
The ceremony began with a prayer led by Ms Eleanore Silveira of FY BBA following which the Principal, Dr Cedric Silveira was invited to say a few words. Dr Silveira addressed why the Investiture Ceremony was being held late and stressed on how difficult it had been to withstand the pandemic and how the class representatives took the initiative and helped the teachers endure and cope during those tough times. He ended his speech by congratulating the assembled group and wishing them the best in their respective roles.


The Director of the college, Fr Joaquim Lobo also expressed how nice it was to witness everyone together after a long time. He talked about how a leader goes the way and shows the way. By quoting these words, he motivated them to inculcate leadership by setting an example. By using the example of air in a tire, he related it to the impact and lack of direction a car will have without adequate air. Motivating them about forthcoming difficulties and challenges, he ended his speech on an encouraging note.


After the speeches, the badges were pinned onto the class representatives. The oath was then administered by Dr Cedric Silveira.
Ms Deepika Vishwakarma proposed the vote of thanks and the ceremony ended with a photo session of the newly elected representatives along with the management. The ceremony symbolises the mantle of responsibilities entrusted to the leaders with the hope that it will prepare them for being leaders of the future.
