Department of BBA (general), Don Bosco College , had organised a session on “Managing Stress For Students And Employees“ on 19th September 2022 at the Audio Visual Hall from 11.40 to 12.50 pm. The session was attended by Director of the Institute, Rev Father Joaquim Lobo and Principal Dr Cedric Silveira while the Chief Guest for the function was Dr. Sanjana Seth - Consultant Psychologist & Psychotherapist SMRC’s VM Salgaocar Hospital , Vasco-da-Gama Goa. The session began with the introduction of the event and welcoming of the dignitaries. The chief guest was introduced by one of the BBA student Swizel Fernandes. Dr Seth briefed the students on the concept of Stress and Stress Management and in depth the meaning and ways to overcome Stress. The entire session was attended by all the BBA department students and few teaching staff who availed the fruitful and motivating talk on the said topic.
The speaker stressed on the importance of the various Sources of Stress and also the various signs of Stress. She also emphasized on how to cope up with the Stress and the ways one can use to minimize the burden or anger during Stress. She gave the students her tip by sharing a ‘Stress kit’ which would help in getting oneself calm when in Stress. The speaker then had a set of questionnaires for the audience, where she tried to evaluate the audience state of mind through their responses. There was a good response from the students on the same. Later the audience were engaged in a Q & A session with the speaker.
The session concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by the BBA student Sakshi Kittur, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries for giving their valuable time. Also thanked the teachers and students for attending this session , followed by presenting a token of appreciation to the Guest at the hands of respected Principal Dr Cedric Silveira. At the end there was a group picture clicked with the speaker, teachers and the students. The entire session brought about the realization that - The only pressure we are under is the pressure we have put on ourselves. It was indeed a very informative and eye opening session.
