On 15th September 2023, Club Filmatics of Don Bosco college, Panjim, organized a two day workshop on light, stop motion and photography to train its students of Mass communication in the art of photography and stop motion. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Alliston Dias, a reputed photographer and filmmaker. The workshop began at 9:30 am with an interactive session on types of camera and photographs. During the session, showcasing a deep understanding of the subject, Dias said "Photography has a different meaning to everyone".Post session, the students were given the task to capture different types of creative photographs. Following it, the students were introduced to the art of stop motion filmmaking.
The first day of the workshop ended with a stop motion video made by Mr. Alliston Dias along with the students. The second day was as enthusiastic as the first day of the workshop. Mr. Alliston Dias began the session by presenting some of his inspiring past works. He then showed the students how to use light modifiers and gave them some engaging tasks which helped them to understand the topic better. Dias concluded the workshop in the Boskon Studio, wherein he taught the students about the various types of lighting and their importance in filmmaking.
The workshop was attended by about 50 students of the Mass Communication department. The Session was very well put out and was definitely useful to the students. Appreciating the efforts of the resource person, Asst. Prof. Sonika Lotlikar, the film club incharge presented a Filmatic memento as a token of love to Mr. Alliston Dias.
