A Leadership Workshop, conducted by Mr. Alan D'Souza was organised as part of the leadership module, for the TYBBA students of Don Bosco College, Panjim, Goa. This Workshop was held for four Fridays on 11th and 18th of August and 1st and 7th September and was well organised, catering to the students. Two of the four sessions were held in class and the remaining two were held in the AV Hall. This Leadership Workshop was incredibly interactive and rejuvenating to the students.
Mr. Alan spoke at length about what it takes to be a leader and introduced a new concept of P. E. D (Process Execute and Deliver) where he elaborated the importance of staying true to oneself and the people around you, by not giving up when things get hard, ''When the going gets tough, the tough get going". He also spoke at length about the two kinds of B. E. D. The "Victim Behaviours" (Blame, Excuse, Denial) that we should avoid, and the "Accountable Behaviours" (Believe, Execute, Deliver) that we should emulate as leaders. He mentioned that the "Victim Behaviours" is something that we as leaders shouldn't fall into and the "Accountable Behaviours" is something that we should try to incorporate in our daily lives.
C. A. M. P (Communication, Assessment, Motivation and Power) was the theme that flowed throughout the workshop, as Mr. Alan focused on each of the topics for each of the days. This Workshop conducted by Mr. Alan included interesting presentations, fun games and informative activities. He divided students into groups, and gave them fun puzzles and unique tasks to complete and demonstrate, but what was most important was that behind each of the fun activities that were conducted was a leadership lesson behind all of them.
Mr. Alan also highlighted the fact that everyone was a leader, he told success stories of great people, including his own and showed the students captivating videos. The best part of this workshop was the original song that he composed and taught to the students, "We are the Champions, We are the Leaders", which was recorded and sung at the end of his workshop.
Truly this Leadership Workshop by Mr. Alan, that was organised by Asst Professor Valerie Carvalho was an eye opening, educative, engaging and an excellent workshop.
