Interclass Table Tennis Tournament at Don Bosco College

The Interclass Table Tennis Tournament organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports at Don Bosco College, Panjim, showcased an enthusiastic display of skill and sportsmanship among the college students. The tournament aimed not only to foster a spirit of healthy competition but also to promote physical fitness and companionship among the participants.
Students from various classes enthusiastically participated in the tournament, representing their respective classes. The tournament saw a commendable turnout, with both male and female students showcasing their prowess. A total of 33 students participated.


The tournament followed a knockout format, with matches being played in ABC VS XYZ format. Each match was keenly contested, highlighting the talent and competitive spirit of the participants. The event drew a lively crowd of supporters who cheered enthusiastically for their classmates, adding to the competitive atmosphere.
After competitive first round matches FYBBA played TYBBA T&T in the first semifinal with FYBBA coming up triumphant. In the second semi-final, TYBCA reached the finals with a hard fought win against TYBBA. In the finals, it was the FYBBA students who outsmarted their seniors to win the first tournament of the year. Mr Arun Unkal of FYBBA received the Best Player of the tournament (Male) while Ms Rucha Bhobe of TYBCA was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament (Female).


Chief guest for the function, Mr. Jude Fernandes, Assistant Professor in the BAMCJ Department spoke on his fondness of table tennis and was happy to see many students turning up for the event. Rev Fr. Joaquim Lobo, Director of the college in his address emphasised that all sports require discipline as well as dedication and encouraged the students to practise every day.
The Interclass Table Tennis Tournament was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and efforts of the participants, organizers, and supporters. The event not only promoted physical activity but also strengthened the sense of community within Don Bosco College, Panjim. Such initiatives are crucial in nurturing both sporting talent and holistic development among students.
