Captivating the classroom- Mr. Mohsin Shaikh presents mobile development concepts to students
The Department of Computer Applications of Don Bosco College successfully hosted a Mobile Application Development Workshop for Second and Third Year BCA students on Monday, 12th August, 2024. The workshop, which drew participation from 31 students, was led by Mr Mohsin Shaikh, a seasoned professional who is the Founder and Director from Haztech Innovations, a tech company based in Margao, Goa.
The event aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in the rapidly growing field of mobile application development. The workshop was split into two sessions: the morning session ran from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. Asst. Prof. Shreesha P J, who introduced the resource person to the students.
Mr Shaikh began the workshop by introducing students to a range of essential tools commonly used in the industry, including Android Studio, VS Code, Flutter, and Git. He provided step-by-step guidance on installing and configuring these tools, making the learning process accessible even to beginners.

The workshop also featured a practical segment where students were taught how to create Graphical user interfaces (GUI) for mobile apps, enabling them to apply their newly acquired knowledge in real-time. The interactive format of the workshop allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of mobile app development, beyond the theoretical concepts taught in classrooms.
In addition to the technical training, Mr Shaikh engaged with students in a lively discussion on career prospects in mobile app development. He shared insights on various industry-relevant courses and advised students on how to maximize their educational experiences to prepare for future careers. Expressing his appreciation for the students, Mr Shaikh commended their enthusiasm and potential, noting that he enjoyed the opportunity to interact with such a motivated group.
The workshop was attended by 16 SYBCA and 15 TYBCA students. The Department of Computer Applications plans to organize more such workshops in the future to ensure that their students remain well-equipped with the latest technological skills.
The department expressed its gratitude to Mr Mohsin Shaikh for his invaluable contribution to the success of the workshop and his commitment to student development. This workshop marks a significant step forward in the department's efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, equipping students with the skills necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving tech industry.
