Intercollegiate Skit Competition organized by Life Skills Committee and Wellness Club

QUICK BITE - ntercollegiate Skit Competition with a theme ‘Mental Wellness Among Youth: #Break the Stigma, Share Your Story, was organised by Life Skills Committee of Don Bosco College, Panjim on 16 October 2024.

The Winners-St. Xavier's College Mapusa


Don Bosco College, Panjim, organized an Intercollegiate Skit Competition under the aegis of the institute’s Life Skills Committee, in association with the Wellness Club on 16 October, 2024 in the College Bicentenary Hall. The event was sponsored by The Rotary Club of Panjim-Riviera. A total of six colleges participated in the competition. The theme of the competition was ‘Mental Wellness Among Youth: #Break the Stigma, Share Your Story,’ based on which the participants were required to enact a skit spanning 10 minutes. The central motif of the skit was the Akashdeep.

The Runners Up- Nirmala Institute of Education


The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Ms. Aileen D’Souza, a renowned psychologist and case coordinator; Guests of Honour Ms. Tanvi Sawant, current president of the Rotary Club of Panjim-Riviera and Mr Denzil Xavier, the club’s ex-president; Mr. Viraj Dhond, the club’s Youth Service Director; Mr. Jeet Tolani, Youth Service Director and President Elect; the Principal Dr. Cedric Silveira; the Director, Rev Fr Joaquim Lobo and the head of the Life Skills Committee, Asst. Prof. Nafisa Da Costa Frias.
In his address to the gathering, the Director, Fr Joaquim Lobo, enunciated the importance of mental wellness. Both, the Chief Guest, Ms. Aileen D’Souza and Ms. Tanvi Sawant emphasized the importance of paying attention to maintaining good mental health, while also applauding the Life Skills Committee’s initiative to create awareness regarding the same. In her speech, Ms. Aileen highlighted the importance of acknowledging one’s difficulties and not hesitating to ask for help. While addressing the audience, Ms. Tanvi shared the concept of ‘Wabi-Sabi,’ a Japanese philosophy that strives to find beauty in imperfection.

The Organising Team


Every participant delivered a brilliant performance that truly dazzled the audience, wherein each one touched upon a different aspect of mental health by enlightening the audience with their creative renditions of the theme. Nirmala Institute of Education emerged as the Runners Up. The winners of the competition were St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa.
