Faculty Development Programme on Emotional Intelligence

QUICK BITE - The BA Department of Psychology at Don Bosco College, Panjim, organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Enhancing Emotional Intelligence for Proactive Teaching” for its teaching faculty.


On the 16th of July 2025, the BA Department of Psychology at Don Bosco College, Panjim, organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Enhancing Emotional Intelligence for Proactive Teaching” for its teaching faculty. The session was held in the college AV Hall and saw the enthusiastic participation of 40 faculty members. The resource person for the session was Prof. Vithoba Narayan Mhalkar, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Bambolim, and a certified Emotional Intelligence Trainer. Through a blend of psychological theories, interactive activities, and practical strategies, Prof. Mhalkar guided educators in understanding emotional triggers, building self-awareness, and applying emotional intelligence to foster a more empathetic and proactive teaching environment.


Participants found the session engaging, relevant, and transformative. The event was coordinated by Dr. Vijay Viegas, Head of the BA Psychology Department. The FDP reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to faculty enrichment and student-centric teaching.
