QUICK BITE -

Don Bosco College, Panjim, organised its Investiture Ceremony on August 18, 2025, marking the formal induction of the newly elected Students’ Council for the academic year 2025-26, in the presence of the Chief Guest, Principal of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and Rector of Don Bosco Panjim House, Rev Fr Tamatur Cardozo, accompanied by Director of the College, Rev Fr Kinley D’Cruz; Officiating Principal, Dr Cedric Silveira; and Chairperson of the Students’ Council, Asst Prof Archie Fernandes.
In his address, Fr Tamatur Cardozo reminded the students that while it is admirable to have role models, true leadership lies in becoming a source of inspiration and strength for others. “It is good to have a hero in life, but it is even more important to be a hero in someone else’s life. A true leader is one who makes a real difference,” he said, encouraging the Council to take up their responsibilities with dedication and humility.

The highlight of the event was the Badge Ceremony, during which the newly elected members were formally invested with their badges of responsibility. The Principal then led the Students’ Council in taking the Oath of Office, signifying their pledge to serve the college community with commitment and integrity.
Adding to the solemnity of the occasion, Fr Kinley D’Cruz addressed the gathering on the qualities of a good leader, emphasising confidence, courage and compassion as vital traits. He urged the students to “be the change you wish to see.”

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the General Secretary Abner Pereira, followed by the college anthem and group photographs that captured the spirit of unity and celebration. The Investiture Ceremony at Don Bosco College stands as a testament to the institution’s commitment to nurturing leadership, responsibility and service among its students.
