As part of its webinar series 2020, the Department of Mass Communication of Don Bosco College, Panjim, hosted a webinar with Goan RJ Alfwold Silveira (FM Rainbow 105.4) on September 20, 2020. The topic of the webinar was the role of radio in mass media.
'With the on-going pandemic in world, it is very important to understand the importance of radio in the world.' RJ Alfwold emphasized that radio is a medium that connects people. The voice on radio goes through people's homes and their hearts. He also interacted with students online and answered several questions asked by them about radio as a medium of mass communication.
Further, he also discussed about the All India Radio in India and their online app newsonair.com which helps people to stay updated with the medium. To become a RJ he said it is important to follow information and news related to music, bands, sports etc. He also stressed upon the importance of developing one's voice by practicing voice exercises and suggested the students to join the music choir.
Department coordinator Ms Nikita Chodankar Dhuri introduced the guest. The session was hosted by SY BAMC student Aryavrat Malhotra and Ms Pranali Mantri, student of TY BAMC proposed the vote of thanks.
