Business and emerging trends of the tourism industry find a voice in Magnify, the annual intercollegiate event organised by the Department of Bachelor of Business Administration (Travel & Tourism). The event takes place on 27th September each year to commemorate the occasion of International World Tourism Day. This event was formerly celebrated as World Tourism Day and was renamed as Magnify in the year 2015. Initially, the event only involved the participation of students of BBA ( Travel & Tourism), however, now the event is also open to participation from the other non-professional courses of Goa university. The participants battle out for the coveted Magnify Trophy through enthusiastic participation in events such as Fashion Show, Social Media Events, Business trends, Quiz, Presentations, Dance, etc.
The theme bestowed by the United Nations World Tourism Day is the theme followed for each year's event. Magnify is organised by the students of Third Year BBA (Travel and Tourism) who get an opportunity to harness their organisational and managerial skills. Prior to the event, a beach clean-up is held by the organisers in line with the World Tourism motto of cleaning up the coastline. The event is designed to provide opportunities to students to interact with tourism industry personnel such as hoteliers, artisans, business persons, etc. it helps inculcate a sense of responsibility towards the environment and encourage the practice of sustainable tourism activities amongst the participants.
