Mr. Gopi Alias Gopal Anand Naik serves as the Librarian at Don Bosco College, Panjim, Goa, since September 2023. He has played a key role in modernizing the college library by implementing the DHE Koha Library Management Software, barcode systems for books, and RFID-enabled student ID integration for automated library access and tracking. He also introduced DrillBit software to support plagiarism checks for student projects and faculty research. In addition, he contributes actively as a member of the IQAC, Library Committee, and iGOT Karmayogi Committee.
He has significantly enhanced digital access and learning resources by facilitating memberships with DELNET and NLIST, acquiring Kopy Kitab eBooks, and conceptualizing the design of the college library website. He also promotes a culture of reading and engagement by organizing events such as quizzes and creative competitions to mark National Librarian Day each year.
Committed to continuous professional development, he has completed Faculty Development Programmes, NEP orientation and sensitization training, and refresher courses in Library and Information Science. He has also participated in specialized Koha workshops and contributed to academic scholarship through publications in journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters.
