This most awaited event sees enthusiastic participation from over forty different colleges of Goa. Each college sends in two participants who compete in this two-day event to win the prestigious title of '˜Hercules.' The first day comprises of various qualifying events which test the strength and endurance of the participants. Only eight commendable participants emerge through this elimination round. Hercules comprises of highly competitive and extraneous events such as Dead Lift, Squatting with Weights, Water Burpee, Tower Run, Rope Climbing, Rope Wave Repetition, Monkey Bars, etc. The highlight of the event is '˜Pulling the Thar' wherein the participant pulls a Mahindra Thar single-handled with the help of a rope. One of the main aims of the 2019 version of the event was to highlight the plight and sheer hard work of daily wage labourers and this was accomplished through practical events such as Woodcutting, Tire Flips, Sack Loading and Unloading, etc. Surrounded by the electrifying cheers and chants of the supporters and spectators, the finalists are fuelled by the perseverant and tenacious desire to win the most famed title of Hercules.
