This program nurtures the holistic growth and development of students in the field of Mass Communication and Journalism by equipping them with a global
perspective and the skills needed to adapt to the evolving media landscape. Through a strong emphasis on hands-on, practical learning, it empowers
students to explore opportunities beyond the classroom, preparing them to become dynamic and forward-thinking media professionals.

The primary aim is to a comprehensive study of the core components of mass media, including print journalism (newspapers and magazines), film, radio broadcasting, television as well as new media. It focuses on how these platforms function as channels of information dissemination and audience engagement. The program aims to equip students with a solid grounding in journalistic practices, media production, and content development across multiple
platforms.

  • A comprehensive, practice-oriented curriculum that promotes experiential learning beyond the traditional classroom environment.

  • Hosting Cinemania, the flagship departmental film event, organized in collaboration with the domain club The Cinemaniacs, fostering creativity, film appreciation, and critical analysis.
  • Organizing PrimeTime, an inter-school media event for Higher Secondary students, promoting early engagement with media studies and creative communication practices.
  • Active participation in domain-specific clubs such as Pixels Club (Photography) and The Cinemaniacs (Film), encouraging skill development in visual storytelling, cinematography, and film discourse.
  • Encouraging student participation in State, National, and International filmmaking competitions to enhance practical expertise, portfolio development, and global exposure.
  • Hands-on training in scriptwriting, pre-production planning, and the creation of short films and documentaries under the mentorship of experienced faculty.
  • Applicants must register for the program by filling up the online application and providing necessary information in the form of data, documents and photographs.
  • On successful verification of the online application a entrance exam and/or video/telephonic/physical interview will be scheduled and conducted subject to Govt notifications.
  • Based on the interview & HSSC result the applicant will be short listed and intimated of the same.
  • A physical verification of documents will be carried out for which guidelines will be communicated to the applicant accordingly.
  • Student candidacy will be confirmed on full payment of Academic Fee.
  • Applicants successfully completing their HSSC or +2 equivalent certificate recognized by Goa University with over 40% marks are eligible for the program.
  • Entrance exam and/or interview with the applicant.
