Dr. Vijay Viegas is an accomplished academician with over 15 years of teaching, research, and mentoring experience. He currently serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Don Bosco College, Panjim. A Ph.D. holder, Dr. Viegas has specialized in emotional intelligence, mental health, sports psychology, and psychological assessment. He has guided over 100 Postgraduate thesis across diverse themes such as adolescent development, occupational well-being, trauma, and psychological resilience. Known for his engaging lectures and methodical approach, he is frequently invited as a resource person for research methodology workshops, SPSS training, and mental health awareness programs across Goa.
Dr. Viegas has an impressive body of scholarly work, including over 20 research papers published in reputed journals like UGC Care-listed and SCOPUS-indexed journals. He has also contributed book chapters to national-level publications, including volumes published by IGNOU and Cinnamon Teal Publishing, focusing on statistical methods in psychological research and adolescent mental health. His work exploring AI’s role in education earned him the Best Paper Award at the APSPA International Conference in 2025. In addition to his research and teaching roles, Dr. Viegas is a co-supervisor for Ph.D. scholars at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, and is actively involved in curriculum design, editorial work, and academic event coordination. His commitment to psychological well-being, academic excellence, and inclusive education makes him a valued member of the Don Bosco academic community.
